The Gramercy Park Hotel re-opened in August 2006 after a full-year renovation and makeover by legendary boutique hotelier, Ian Schrager, of Morgan's Hotel and Studio 54 fame. This is his first hotel venture since leaving Morgan's Hotel Group, so the opening of the new Gramercy Park Hotel is big news in the hotel business, representing a new departure for Ian Schrager.

Wakiya - (pictured left) offers a new style of Chinese cooking and fine dining inspired by the traditional food of Shanghai, Szechuan, Canton and Beijing done from a Japanese culinary perspective. Currently not available in America, this new genre of Chinese cuisine is rich in imagination and dynamically presented through the eyes of Chef Yuji Wakiya.
