5 STAR LUXURY HOTEL125 ROOMS & 20 SUITES

Updated November 2, 2007 — A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, The Merrion Dublin opened in 1997. The hotel is made up of a series of landmark Georgian houses, one of which was the birthplace of the Duke of Wellington. The Merrion's drawing room has been a gathering place for Dublin's elite and its jet-set, and its Michelin-starred Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud is generally considered Ireland's finest.

Graceful and elegant, The Merrion is located in the heart of Dublin. Only a tiny brass nameplate marks the hotel's unassuming brick exterior, but inside, restored marble floors and columns and ornate rococo plasterwork ceilings show off the grand style of 18th century Dublin.

A half-block from Merrion Square, this row of Georgian townhouses is opposite the Museum of National History, and five blocks from the shops, theaters, and restaurants of Temple Bar. Paintings from one of Ireland's largest private art collections are displayed in two formal restaurants, two bars, and the drawing rooms.

142 guestrooms have finely crafted white-and-gilt furniture, high-speed Internet access, Sony Playstations, and Italian-marble bathrooms with separate tubs and showers. A stay at The Merrion would not be complete without sampling some of Ireland's finest cuisine at Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud - holder of two Michelin stars. The Spa and Health Club has an infinity swimming pool and gym.

Take advantage of one of the following special offers, and enhance your stay with an extraordinary experience:

The Penthouse Suite - When a hotel suite has an extra room to accommodate "security personnel," chances are that high-caliber guests are spending the night. Such is the case at Dublin's most exclusive hotel, where celebrities (like Bruce Springsteen) have kept the 3,000-square-foot duplex penthouse booked since its September opening. Ensuring the utmost in discretion, a private elevator opens right into the suite's first floor, where two bedrooms look out on the hotel's faithfully re-created 18th-century gardens.
