2016 Palma Superyacht Show Heralds Arrival of Mediterranean Yachting Season
With the 2016 Mediterranean yacht charter season comes the commencement ofthe yacht show calendar, attracting brokers, buyers and seafarers from the world over. Spain's yachting hub, Palma, accommodates the first major Mediterranean yachting event of the year, the 2016 Palma Superyacht Show.

With the old town of Palma and her historic cathedral offering a picturesque backdrop, the 2016 Palma Superyacht Show runs concurrently with the Boat Show Palma and showcases yachts for sale and charter from 24m. This year, the event runs from April 28th to May 2nd, to include the May 1st public holiday, allowing both local and international visitors the chance to make a long weekend out of their stay on this pretty Balearic Island.

Organized by the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association with the support of MYBA, the worldwide yachting association, both events attracted more than 36,000 visitors in 2015 and show organizers are expecting an even bigger attendance this year, with over 60 yachts larger than 24m on display.

Unlike MYBA's other spring yacht show in Genoa, which is solely focused on charter, the Palma edition caters for both yacht sales and charter clients. Unusually,it will have more sailing yachts than motor yachts on display at the show, which is sure to please enthusiasts of classic sailing vessels.

Along with yachts, a variety of exhibitors from other industries will also be present, as befits Palma's standing as a rival to Antibes and Monaco as the Mediterranean's premier yachting center. The show program also includes a conference from the International Institute of Marine Surveying, a fun fair, and all-important drinks receptions, which offer a great opportunity to socialize and expand your network of industry contacts.
