This marks the fourth consecutive year that Amanresorts has placed in the highest ranking. The collection's 22 resorts all scored in the "Extraordinary to Perfection" category.

Amanresorts was founded by Adrian Zecha who envisioned a collection of intimate retreats in beautiful surroundings with the unassuming, warm hospitality of a gracious private residence. Amanpuri introduced the concept, and since its launch two decades ago, Amanresorts has grown to encompass 22 unparalleled resorts located in Bhutan, Cambodia, China, France, French Polynesia, Indonesia, India, Laos, Montenegro, Morocco, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the Turks & Caicos Islands and the USA.

Zagat Survey is the world's leading provider of consumer opinion based leisure content. The "Top Hotels, Resorts and Spas 2009/2010" edition covers 1,250 properties in over 99 countries worldwide. Rankings are based on input from 21,000 frequent travelers and travel professionals. Aman properties received leading ratings in categories including "Top 50 Small Resorts, Inns & Lodges," "Top Service," "Top Dining" and "Top Destination Spas," to name a few.

Set amidst the lush rice paddies of central Java overlooking the 8th century Buddhist monument of Borobudur, Amanjiwo is indeed a special place. The resort scored first in the "Top Facilities" category and second in the "Top Rooms" category, placing second overall among small resorts worldwide. Amankila in East Bali also was recognized prominently, scoring third in the "Top Rooms" category, and seventh overall. Amanresorts features eight properties in the top 50 overall ranking, including Amanusa, Amansara, Amanpuri, Amandari, Amanjena, and Amanpulo.

The "Top Service" category saw both Amansara in Siem Reap, Cambodia and Amanusa in Nusa Dua, Bali rank in the top five, at second and fourth place, respectively. In the survey's "Top Destination Spa" category, Amandari - nestled in Bali's verdant arts capital of Ubud - once again claimed sixth position.

In the "Top Rooms" category, Amanjiwo and Amankila were joined by Amanpulo in the Philippines and Amanjena in Morocco in the top 15 ranking.
