Barnsley Gardens Resort Wins a Top Spot in Conde Nast Traveler List
Barnsley Gardens Resort was ranked #2 out of 20 Southern U.S. Golf Resorts. Destinations were evaluated based upon the following criteria: course design and access, golf staff, services, rooms, food, overall design and activities/facilities.

The championship-caliber course was designed by Jim Fazio, who personally selected the 378 acres that the course occupies so it would blend into the natural surroundings. While golfers are teeing up, they will be able to experience spectacular panoramas nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The General offers stunning views of mountain peaks and emerald green fairways reminiscent of the courses of Scotland. Strategic hazards and dramatic tee shots descending to soft greens draw visitors from all over the world and offer challenges for golfers of all skill levels. Its breathtaking vistas and exciting play make it one of the Southeast's most sought-after courses.

Barnsley Gardens Resort is no stranger to awards. This latest achievement caps a list of recent honors including being named to Condé Nast Traveler's “Gold List” for the past two years, Condé Nast Traveler's “Top 240 Spas in North America, Hawaii, Central America and the Caribbean” list, and a 2010 “Premier Resort” by Golf Magazine. Additional resort accolades include a designation as the 2008 and 2007 GGCOA “Course of the Year,” 4.5 Star Rating in Golf Digest's “Best Places to Play” 2007, Travel + Leisure's “500 World's Best Hotels,” Condé Nast “Johansens Recommendation” in 2007, and an “Extraordinary” rating by the Zagat Survey of America's Top Golf Courses (2007/2008).
