Been Everywhere? Try these Amazing Trips to Pioneering Destinations
From living the traditional life with indigenous tribes to exploring the vast wilderness of hidden corners of the world, Steppes's new “pioneering trips” will take you to adventure in Venezuela, Gabon, Nepal, Tajikistan, Mongolia and Bangladesh.

Venezuela (Lost World of Mount Roraima) - Led by the botanist and explorer Stewart McPherson, this trip takes adventurers to the top of Mount Roraima. Encircled by vertical cliffs, towering over the surrounding savannahs and rainforest, Roraima's summit has been isolated for millions of years and was the inspiration for Arthur Conan Doyle's story, The Lost World. Trek around the breathtaking Valley of the Crystals, Lake Gladys, the Prow, and Triple Point, the three way border of Venezuela, Guyana and Brazil. The region is recognized for its abundant wildlife, carnivorous plants and orchids. Created for real adventurers, evenings in this excursion will be spent under canvas in truly stunning locations, including the Roraima caves and Tok River. This trip will be available from August 20- September 1 and September 21- October 2, 2014. The cost per person sharing for 12 days and 11 nights is $4,000 (all inclusive).

Gabon (Moukalaba Doudou & South Loango) - Ideal for intrepid travelers, Gabon is an exceptional destination for wildlife viewing. The mixture of beach and rainforest provides a unique experience where you can see elephants roaming along the shore and hippos surfing in the sea. Explore Mbani, an area of Moukalaba Doudou National Park where few tourists have ever set foot; take guided nature walks along the beach and around Ndogo Lagoon and travel by boat to explore the diverse habitat of Setta-Cama, home to numerous primates and birds. This trip will be available from May 24-31, 2014. The cost per person sharing excluding flights is $3,800.

This destination, renowned for its spiritual heritage and tradition, was closed to foreigner visitors several years ago. However, in 1992 the Nepalese Government re-opened the region only to organized trekking groups. Steppes Travel will guide you through this journey of hiking and culture. Trek the shadows of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna along the Kali Ghandaki River; pass through the Mustang's white-washed mountain villages with their Buddhist shrines and temples; visit the walled city of Lo Manthang and spend three days of at the Tije Festival, a vibrant Buddhist celebration with traditional dancing and singing. This trip offers travelers the chance to really get under the skin of this incredibly beautiful and hospitable country, to explore mountain villages and experience the true nomadic life of the Tajiks by staying in local guesthouses. This trip will be available from June 29-July 10, 2014. The cost per person sharing based in a minimum of four people is $4,080 and includes international flights, all land services and accommodation, meals on half boards and entrance fees to museum and sites.
