Exclusive to the landmark hotel, this once-in-a-lifetime experience gives visitors crowd-free access to the monument on Corcovado Mountain before it opens to the public.

A true Rio icon, Belmond Copacabana Palace has been welcoming guests since opening its doors in 1923. Perched on the edge of legendary Copacabana Beach, the hotel embodies the vibrant city's larger-than-life personality. Every Friday, guests on the three-hour tour will be collected from Belmond Copacabana Palace at 5am and transported to the national park of Tijuca Forest, where the granite peak of Corcovado is located. Here they will journey to the top of the 2,296ft mountain, where they can marvel at the famous 125ft statue of Jesus Christ before the usual crowds of sightseers arrive. Enjoying such privileged access to the famous landmark, which is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, is a truly unforgettable experience.

Making the most of having the site practically to themselves, guests will be treated to a delicious picnic breakfast on top of the mountain. Carefully prepared by Belmond Copacabana Palace's executive chef Pierre-Olivier Petit, a waiter will serve the alfresco feast of fresh home-baked breads, sandwiches, cakes, pastries and juices while guests soak up incredible views as the sun rises over the city.

The sunrise picnic at Christ the Redeemer is priced from £167 per person for groups of four to 10. Couples can exclusively book the experience from £666 per couple. Advanced booking is required.
