Chilean Wine Country Immersion for Luxury Connoisseurs

Chilean Wine Country Immersion for Luxury Connoisseurs
What pairs best with Chilean wine? Why, Chilean wine country, of course. Discover the remarkable beauty of the land and the glass with explora + wine, a new connoisseur program from explora.

Unfolding at Viña Porta Estate in the Alto Cachapoal Valley, explora + wine offers oenophiles immersion in local wine culture, with authentic hospitality and luscious comfort to better celebrate the growing appeal of Chilean wines. The new program is a partnership with explora's sister company, CV Family Estates, which not only operates Casa Porta but also oversees the wine production at the estancia.

Set in the Alto Cachapoal Valley less than an hour south of Santiago, Viña Porta is an exquisite setting for the Chilean wine country experience. The secluded, colonial-style house dates from 1875. It has six uniquely furnished guest rooms with room for 12 guests. Stretch out in a large interior patio with four Chilean palm trees laid out to match the surrounding architecture; relax in the living room well equipped for entertainment; and amble the property surrounded by the distinctive beauty of vineyards and the valley beyond. The estate has an underground cellar and barrel room, as well as a wine bar and tasting room. It is also an inviting setting for small meetings and events, with a dining room, function room and chapel onsite.

And the wine? Viña Porta's are excellent, reflecting the philosophy that there is "a valley for every wine." Winemakers Jessica Tomei, who hails from the U.S., and Ana Salomo, from nearby Santiago, combine tradition with the latest technology to create uniquely aromatic and flavorful wines.

explora + wine offers one- and two-day wine country immersions at Casa Porta, with two-day travelers enjoying a tour and lunch in nearby Viña Gracia, as well as a tour of a nearby vineyard. Both programs include the following: Transfer to and from Santiago Airport to Casa Porta; Overnight accommodation; Open bar; Tour of Casa Porta winery; Wine tasting; Cost of explora + wine starts at one-night stay at $120 per person/double occupancy.

explora invites its travelers to experience 1-2 day tailor-made wine programs to Casa Porta as a perfect complement to an active break at explora in Atacama, Patagonia or Easter Island.

"explora Passport" offers complimentary one-night stays at Casa Porta for guests booking two explora properties and complimentary two-night stays to guests booking all three of their properties.
