The six month renovation features a modern infusion of traditional Bahamian elegance and includes the revamping of the hotel entrance, lobby, construction of a new gift shop, restaurant expansion, and 12 new guest rooms and suites, eight of which have the best ocean views on the island.

Guest room renovations feature a new layout, high vaulted ceilings, mini bars, balconies, with an open, lofty atmosphere and sleek island style. Sustainable Sheesham wood and bone inlay create custom designed furnishings, such as desks, bedding, rugs, and seating in each room. All guest rooms have been upgraded with a make-up vanity that includes a magnifying mirror, an outlet for electronics, decorative lighting and luxurious bedding for ultimate relaxation and comfort. Additional renovations are highlighted in the newly-revamped checkered black and white tile bathrooms, each outfitted with a walk-in shower, which includes a rain head and handheld shower head. Three suites out of the 12 guest rooms have also been updated with a freestanding soaking tub. Taking large families into consideration, Coral Sands designed one of their suites specifically with the ability to be convert into a two bedroom.

Unveiling the brand new hotel restaurant “Latitude 25”, Chef Ludovic Jarland offers a creative culinary experience as Harbour Island's most exquisite dining venue. Equipped with new flooring, lighting, furnishings, and overall décor, Coral Sands' main restaurant has been completely remodeled with an eight-foot extension added to the existing terrace. "Latitude 25" offers succulent seafood combined with an outstanding international wine selection, and a menu reconnecting with Harbour Island's roots. Featuring French-themed organic and natural foods with locally-sourced ingredients, "Latitude 25" provides the ideal culinary experience.

Further upgrades to the property include the addition of the gift shop “The Siren Song,” a brand new structure built at the hotel entrance that was also designed by Barbara Hulanicki. With a 1,000-square foot space and vaulted ceilings that boast a white/beige wash paired with pale blonde, wide-wood plank floors, the new gift shop evokes a loft-like feel. Collections from Hulanicki's acclaimed fashion line, Iconclub will be for sale in the gift shop.

The property itself, owned and operated by Tom and Silma Sherman, spans over 7 acres with 39 guest rooms.
