There is a wonderful amount to take in as you pedal along London's paths -- expect to encounter royal palaces, green parks, maritime history, traditional English pubs, local markets, landscape gardens, boutique shopping, world-class museums and galleries, historical houses, riverside landmarks and more.

Choose from three self-guided tours in London:

1. West to Kew and Richmond

This gentle ride of 18 miles takes you under many of the London bridges you may know and to riverside surprises you don't know. Then there's Kew to enjoy and Richmond to explore with its many waterside retreats, fine houses and park. Relax at the end of the day with bikes aboard a leisurely boat trip back to London.

2. East to Greenwich and The Barrier

Ride east on this fascinating tour of 7 or 15 miles and unravel the layers of history that have built up beside the Thames. Discover the unexpected, a tiny museum and a farm. Soak up the maritime treasures at Greenwich and if you want to explore further, cycle on to the Barrier. There's a leisurely boat trip back from Greenwich with bikes aboard at the end of the day.

3. London's Heart

Ideal for a half day, this 13.5 mile route is virtually traffic free. It explores famous London landmarks as well as the quirky and unexpected. The banks of the Thames and many of London's spacious parks define the route for this ride. Take in tiny mews and Kensington Palace, a street market and rose garden and of course, boats large and small. Ride through alleys, take a lift and pedal under famous bridges and arches.
