Discover Summer at Rosewood Mayakoba

This summer, Rosewood Mayakoba welcomes travelers to step into a season of renewal, connection, and personal discovery with the launch of Summer at Rosewood. Rooted in the belief that true luxury is not just a destination, but a feeling, Summer at Rosewood celebrates the transformational power of travel through cultural immersion, shared experiences, and self-exploration.

At Rosewood Mayakoba, Summer is brought to life through a series of seasonal experiences that celebrate those simple moments which stay with you long after the day comes to an end, becoming part of the stories we carry forward. Following four evocative themes—Summer Escapes at Rosewood, Nature Takes Center Stage, From Sunrise to Sunset, and Taste of Summer—the experiential extensions underscore how real impact unfolds when place, emotion, togetherness, and personal discovery converge.

Nature Takes Center Stage

Summer at Rosewood Mayakoba is a celebration of sun-filled days and unforgettable moments by the sea. From swimming in ancient cenotes to golden hour sails, guests are invited to discover the natural wonders of the resort and immerse themselves in the rich beauty of the Yucatán Peninsula throughout their stay. Winding nature trails offer peaceful, immersive exploration through lush mangroves, home to hundreds of indigenous flora and fauna species, and lead to hidden gems like the butterfly pavilion.

Daily eco-tours by boat on the lagoon offer a unique connection to the landscape, with guides sharing insights into the region’s diverse wildlife and on-site conservation efforts. Guests have the opportunity to observe native species up close and learn about ongoing initiatives to protect and rehabilitate sea turtles that call the region home. Special kid-friendly versions are available through the Kids’ Club activity calendar.

From Sunrise to Sunset

Health, wellbeing, longevity, and rejuvenation shape a journey of discovery that flows from invigorating mornings to tranquil evenings. At Sense, A Rosewood Spa®, ancient traditions are integrated with modern wellness practices through thoughtfully curated treatments like sound healing, apothecary-inspired therapies, traditional Temazcal ceremonies and the signature Kuxtal ritual.

Rooted in the Mayan word for life, the “Kuxtal” Sensory Garden Ritual begins with a fusion of aromas, sounds and tastes that blend with the beauty of nature to awaken each of the five senses. Guests are guided through the Sensory Garden and encouraged to find their intuitive connection to a plant, which inspires the design of their personalized treatment.

Throughout the day, adult guests are invited to unwind at the Serenity Pool at the spa or the new lap pool at the Rosewood Residences fitness center. Mindfulness Mondays offer complimentary Copal & Cacao Meditation sessions, while Wellness Wednesdays offer complimentary workshops including natural exfoliants and facial yoga.

Taste of Summer

Celebrate the flavors of the season through immersive culinary experiences that highlight local ingredients and authentic culinary traditions. Begin the day at Café Alux, the resort’s new coffee and pastry destination offering locally sourced beans and handmade creations, served daily at La Plaza.

On Tuesday nights, the internationally acclaimed Zapote Bar hosts Martes de Locales, an electrifying evening featuring award-winning bar talent from across Mexico, the U.S. and beyond. Guests can enjoy a vibrant diversity of craft cocktails accompanied by live music and an unforgettable atmosphere that celebrates Mexico’s rich hacienda culture.

At La Ceiba Garden & Kitchen, the Chef’s Garden Dinner invites guests to dine beneath a stunning Ceiba tree, considered sacred in Mayan culture. This open-air culinary experience showcases the heritage of the Yucatán Peninsula with a multi-course menu using traditional open-flame cooking techniques and hyper-seasonal regional ingredients. Seated at communal tables alongside fellow guests and Rosewood associates, immerse in a memorable evening of Mexican hospitality and cuisine, live music, craft cocktails and regional wines and spirits.
