Approximately 75 minutes' drive from Banyan Tree Lang Co, lies the Bach Ma National Park, home to more than 2,000 plants, insects, birds and mammals, fish, reptiles and amphibians. A highlight is the rhododendron bloom in springtime, when the colorful flowers cascade along the streams and light up the Pheasant waterfall within the park. A walk up to the summit at 1,450 meters above sea level is rewarded with a cool swim in a natural creek a waterfall, along the way. For adventurous guests, the remote National Park Phong Nha-ke is found about four hours' drive from Laguna Lang Co. This tropical paradise with its lush forests and bizarre limestone formations, is home to a huge variety of wildlife. In the north of the Truong Son Mountains, researchers have found 112 species of mammals, more than 380 vertebrate and 1,320 different plant species, plus nine species of monkeys, including gibbons, macaques and langurs. The porous rock of the mountains have created more than 300 caves and grottoes, including the biggest cave in the world, as well as underground waterfalls and 65 kilometers of underground rivers, 14 kilometers of which can be explored via an exciting boat ride.
