Dromoland Castle Launches Bespoke Gift Shop

Dromoland Castle Launches Bespoke Gift Shop
The Shop at Dromoland, located on Chestnut Green between the castle and the walled garden near the Dromoland Castle Golf and Country Club, will delight guests and locals alike.

While the castle and estate may be ancient, Dromoland's staff are creatively contemporary when it comes to satisfying the tastes of luxury destination travelers. Thus, the shop will feature a range of local and artisan items, including food products, that will vary with the seasons and highlight the best and the finest of the region and the nation.

Carefully selected by the castle's own, gifts on offer include foods made with fruit harvested from the estate's ancient walled garden, such as jams, locally sourced honey, seaweed products, a variety of fine cheeses, and smoked trout and salmon. Also on offer are fresh vegetables from nearby fields and farms. To celebrate the launch, a fun and festive holiday pop-up shop-within-a-shop has appeared, featuring climate-friendly Christmas trees in a pot.

Management's goal in recreating the traditional hotel gift shop? To become a regional tasting center, one that offers the bounty of Ireland's earth, sea, and sky while educating visitors on the bounty of locally sourced and artisan-crafted goods. Soon to come: food tours! And, for those who can't pop across the pond as often as they'd like, the shop will be accepting online orders for its merchandise via the Castle website beginning in April 2012.
