Dromoland Castle Reveals Renovated Queen Anne Wing

Dromoland Castle Reveals Renovated Queen Anne Wing
A charming quadrangle built in 1736 by Sir Edward O'Brien, the structure is almost a century older than Ireland's other five-star hotels.

Global Design Concepts was involved in the refurbishment of the Queen Anne guestrooms. In addition, 11 East Wing guestrooms have also been refurbished. (The Queen Anne guestrooms vary in size and layout while the East Wing rooms are larger.) All 36 are decorated with new Zoffany and Osborne & Little wallpapers and sport new paint and lightly refreshed bathrooms. The bespoke woven wool carpets were manufactured in the United Kingdom, fabrics were sourced from Europe's leading design houses, and the sumptuous upholstery was designed by the French fabric house Pierre Frey.

Graceful lines enliven these spacious and well-appointed guestrooms, which feature cottage-style décor inspired by 18th-century botanical drawings. Guests will enjoy the cappuccino-striped wallpaper and tufted bedding, set of dramatic white headboards. Ornate tassels and trim complement the details of the silk curtains that frame serene views of the delightful enclosed courtyard, while snuggly throws are available to warm chilly toes.

Touches of elegance enhance the East Wing accommodations, from shimmering crystal chandelier and, dramatic lighting to plush furnishings and lush bedding. Each room is individually designed and decorated with soothing comfort and quiet beauty in mind. Even the smallest details have been carefully curated, including embroidery of the Dromoland Castle logo onto the bed cushions and decorative pillows.

Among the rooms renovated over the past two years are the Queen Anne, Turret Deluxe and East Wing Deluxe rooms, the Executive Staterooms and Suites, and the Cottage and Presidential Suites.

Throughout the renovation process, Dromoland Castle has continued to uphold its tradition of impeccable, unobtrusive service that is never compromised.
