Eben House Adds Historic Luxury to Provincetown Hotel Scene

Eben House Adds Historic Luxury to Provincetown Hotel Scene
Originally built in 1776 as the home of the highly successful seafarer, Captain Eben Snow, each of the inn's fourteen rooms and suites have been completely renovated and individually designed to celebrate the building's rich history.

Eben House's design is a modern twist on the home's traditional 18th century style. The interiors are filled with plush furnishings and lush amenities, including custom pillow-top mattresses swathed in luxury linens, flat screen televisions, mini-fridges, and new bathrooms with rain showerheads and natural bath products from C.O. Bigelow and LA-based Further brand. Seven of the fourteen rooms and suites boast cozy fireplaces.

Comprised of three buildings, The Captain's House, The Carriage House and The Victorian House, the entire Inn is centered on a beautiful manicured courtyard. The Captain's House is the centerpiece and maintains many of its original architectural details, such as original moldings and wide plank pine floors, which were originally used to build Captain Snow's ship. The light-filled Conservatory on the Captain's House main floor opens out to the brick courtyard where guests may feast on Salt Hotels' signature breakfast. Influenced by seasonal ingredients, the menu changes daily and is artfully presented to include freshly baked pastries, house-made granola, rustic hot savory dishes and yogurt parfaits. Guests who wish to linger just a little bit longer in bed, have the added luxury of enjoying breakfast in their room where a hot drink, freshly baked treats and the yogurt du jour will be delivered at no extra cost.

As a way to pay homage to Captain Eben Snow, Salt Hotels' owners David Bowd and Kevin O'Shea commissioned local artist Michael Gredler to create 14 original oil paintings, depicting the captain's fictional family members, in the style of 18th century primitive portraiture. At first glance the portraits appear to be very traditional, however upon closer inspection each has its own charming eccentricity and capricious spin, a parallel to Provincetown itself.

Eben House is open year round with rates starting at $195 per night and include breakfast daily, Wi-Fi and parking. For more information and reservations, please visit www.salthotels.com or call 508-487-1911.
