CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World in Anguilla, creates globally-inspired menus maximizing local flavors and fresh ingredients from the Resort's comprehensive hydroponic farm, unique for a resort and the first of its kind in the Caribbean. Hydroponics is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions, in water, without soil. The sustainable farming technique saves water through a recirculation system and drip irrigation (up to 60 to 80-percent compared to conventional outdoor farms); innovative technology recycles the drainage from the greenhouse to feed outdoor landscape plants. The 18,000 square-foot greenhouse on property was engineered to withstand winds up to 110 mph, and the crops can be grown all season, regardless of outside weather conditions. Hydroponic farm tours are available for guests to learn more about the farming technique.
