Even The Grass is Greener at The Sea Pines Resort

Even The Grass is Greener at The Sea Pines Resort
Stopping for a quick chat during his Wednesday pro-am round at this year's PGA TOUR RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, golfing great Ernie Els said it best, “Harbour Town is incredible.”

That's not all that sparkles at Sea Pines after a series of recent multi-million dollar property investments. The new 44,000-square-foot Harbour Town Clubhouse is the centerpiece of the property and is a golf lover's dream. When visiting, be sure to check out the delicious cuisine at Links, an American Grill with a great view of Harbour Town. Also stroll along the Hall of Champions showcasing the rich history of the RBC Heritage with its many PGA TOUR superstars donning the coveted Tartan jacket awarded to the winner.

Any golf resort can perhaps have one great clubhouse, but how about two? The 23,000-square-foot Plantation Golf Club, serving the Heron Point by Pete Dye and Ocean courses, was awarded the 2015 “New Clubhouse of the Year” by Golf Inc. The clubhouse is highlighted by Live Oak, its bar and grill featuring Lowcountry-inspired cuisine. Nearby, the new family-friendly 25,000-square-foot Sea Pines Beach Club showcases an inviting seaside dining atmosphere with breathtaking views of the Atlantic.

Complementing Harbour Town perfectly is the resort's Heron Point by Pete Dye. While lauded since opening in 2007, the course nonetheless underwent a series of recent subtle modifications by Dye that softened the design and made it even more of a joy to play. The layout was recently named “Golf Course of the Year” by the South Carolina Golf Course Owners Association.

Soon the legendary Lowcountry destination will have three exceptional courses to tee it up on as the Ocean Course will reopen later this year after a complete reconstruction by Love Golf Design – the architecture firm including Davis Love III, his brother Mark, and architect Scot Sherman. Few locales will have 54 holes this good.

As far as vacation accommodations, Sea Pines has over 300 villas and 100 rental homes throughout its tranquil grounds. For those seeking the absolute best in luxury and service, The Inn & Club at Harbour Town is the way to go. The 60-room boutique hotel ranked No. 5 in Conde Nast Traveler's 2015 “Best Hotels in the U.S.”

Available from May 28 – Sept. 6, the Inn & Club at Harbor Town Summer Special starts at $285 per day (four-day minimum) and features a $50 resort credit and reduced golf rates. Included complimentary are daily transportation to the Sea Pines Beach Club (with use of beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, and cooler of bottled water), valet parking, adult bikes (with reduced rates on children's bikes), two hours of court time at The Sea Pines Racquet Club, and full access to the Inn's luxurious pool.

Through Sept. 9, the Escape Vacation Package starts at $153 per night for weekly home and villa stays with a $100 resort credit (redeemable for golf, dining and activities), free golf for children 12 and younger on Heron Point (with each paid adult round), no charge for children 12 younger on a 90-minute dolphin excursion cruise (with each paid adult), and additional extras.
