Excitement Brewing in Germany Design Hotels Presents the Factory Hotel. A historic brewery is transformed into a buzzing new quarter with a lifestyle hotel at its centre.

Opening in December 2008, the Factory Hotel is an eclectic mix of buildings located at what was once the site of the Germania Brewery in Muenster, Germany – a historic city and cultural hub of the Westphalia region. In addition to sprucing up the old brewery buildings and grounds, architect Andreas Deilmann introduced a brand-new, modern wing and transformed the entire area into a vibrant new lifestyle and entertainment quarter for travellers and locals alike.

At the heart of the complex stands the landmark-protected main brewery building, which overlooks a lake and is surrounded by restaurants, clubs and shops. The 128 guestrooms and 16 suites are all housed in the new wing, set slightly apart from the bustle of campus life so that guests are assured a quiet night's sleep but are never too far from the action.

All rooms feature a modern design with industrial flair that alludes to the site's former life. Raw concrete walls are offset with warm woods and felt textiles to create a comfortable atmosphere. Each room features its own balcony, exceptionally spacious bathroom as well as a work area.

Hotel facilities include an expansive fitness centre complete with swimming pool, roof terrace, spa and personal training service. The hotel also offers nine meeting and event spaces ranging in size from 35 to 350 square metres, with an additional 500 square metre space under construction.

All events can be catered by one of the three on-site kitchens. The main restaurant offers fine dining and serves German and Austrian cuisine. A hybrid menu of traditional tapas and Mediterranean dishes are featured in the Spanish restaurant, while the bistro offers perennial favourites.

Once the sun sets, things heat up at the lounge bar and two on-site clubs, where guests and locals gather for drinks, music and more. The Live Club located in the refurbished brewery basin features a varied programme of poetry slams, readings and live jazz, while the Night Club, spread over two levels in the renovated brewery basement, features a varying line-up of local and international DJs spinning beats until dawn.
