Explore the True Spirit of Venice in 3 Days at The Bauers Hotel
For those who are planning to stay briefly and want a quick taste of the real food, art, and fun of Venice, there is no better time than now for that visit. In addition to the beautiful springtime weather, all the major art exhibitions will be running this season.

Five important exhibitions dedicated to art, fashion, design and photography, all in the name of women artists, will take place at: the Fortuny Museum (from March 8th to July 14th); the exhibition of Carlo Fontana in Palazzo Franchetti (from February 15th to May 18th); Venice Art for All Haris Epaminondas Chapter IV (from March 15th to May 18th); and Cyprian artist Haris Espaminonda's first personal exhibition in Italy (from March 15th to May 18th).

If you want to live in a dream for a few days, nothing beats the BAUERs Hotel, located in the heart of Venice, a mere two minutes walking distance from the city's St. Mark's Square, shopping, and cultural center.

Here is a great, full way to spend three days in Venice:

Day 1

Start your tour by visiting the famous St. Mark's Square and its Cathedral - and don't forget the Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art, which displays unusual icons. Venice, the show, tells the story of La Serenissma on stage. For lunch, you can dine at the hotel's De Pisis restaurant, where international chef Hiraki Masakazu offers his unique, acclaimed cuisine. From the De Pisis' terrace you can soak in the magnificent view of the Grand Canal. In the afternoon, you may walk to the church of the Franciscan Friars to admire Titian's ‘Assumption of the Virgin Mary' and Bellini's famous triptych. As the sun sets, be tantalized by a gourmet experience at the beautiful Michelin-starred Quadri Restaurant in Saint Mark's Square, and then finish the day big by trying your luck at the elegant Venice Casino, with a complementary pass offered by the Bauer hotel.

Day 2

Padua, only a short train-ride from Venice, makes an excellent post for exploring the Veneto Region of Italy. This charming town is home to the world-renowned Scrovegni Chapel frescoes by Giotto. Dine at the trattoria “Da Gianni,” where you may try the famous roasted and boiled meats trolley and fresh pastas. In the afternoon, visit the famous, bloomings botanical gardens, St. Anthony's Cathedral, and Galileo's operating table.

Day 3

After savoring a delicious breakfast al fresco while admiring the Grand Canal, board a private boat headed to the Islands of the lagoon, including the most secret ones – like San Francesco del Deserto. For a sweeping view of Venice, dine in the magical garden of the island of Torcello, and then climb to the top of the bell tower.

On the way back, make sure you stop for some cicchetti in Saint Erasmus and Vignole. Cicchetti are small snacks or side dishes (like tapas), typically served in traditional bàcari (cicchetti bars or osterie). And last but not least, celebrate your stay by dancing in Piazza San Marco!

In Venice, we recommend you to visit the Doge's palace, the very symbol of the city, located in St. Mark's Square near the famous Ponte dei Sospiri, and only a few steps away from the BAUERs hotel. Also very near to the hotel is one of Venice's most famous theatres, la Fenice Opera House, the site of many famous operatic premieres. The Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, one of the greatest churches in the city, stands on Campo dei Frari at the heart of the San Paolo district. Another beautiful building surely worth visiting is the Scuola Grande di San Rocco. Founded in the late fifteenth century, it is one – and certainly the best preserved – of Venice's six Scuole Grandi (Major Guilds), which for many centuries, together with the minor Confratermities, formed the network of religious brotherhoods.

Using Venice as your base, you can make your way to Verona and other surrounding towns and villages in Italy. Verona, well known for Shakespeare's masterpiece ‘Romeo and Juliet,' is just a one-and-a-half hour train ride from Venice. Vicenza and Treviso are two other beautiful cities just a half hour ride from Venice. The Bauer hotel also offers several local privileges to our guests, including passes to the civic museums, the Pinault Foundation, a wide range of benefits in some of our partner boutiques, and complimentary access to the Venice Casino.

The Bauers hotel will make your stay Venice, no matter how long, special with the elegant and cosmopolitan feel of the hotel, characterized by timeless and classic architecture of great historical significance in one of the most unique cities of the world.
