The famous Nine Nations Suites reflect the international nature of the original Peace Hotel and of Shanghai as an internationally desired destination and was the concept of the founder of the hotel Sir Victor Sassoon. The Chinese, Indian, English and American suites have been preserved from the original Peace Hotel, and the French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and German suites have been redesigned in keeping with the original concept of presenting different national and historical styles.

The Indian Suite presents the opulence, high colour and fantasy for which the hotel is renowned. There is filigree plaster work on the walls, ceilings from which hang extravagant pendant lights and rich Indian carpets on the floor. The suite has a living room, dining room, bedroom and bathroom. The in-suite dining area accommodates up to 8 guests for intimate private dinners, and there is a mini bar and an Illy espresso machine. The luxurious bathroom has a deep claw-foot tub with bath-side LCD screen and there is also a whirlpool. English Suite

The oak-paneled walls, stone and brick fireplaces and molded plaster ceilings suggest the solid grandeur of the Victorian Age of England. The glamorous bath room has a deep, claw-foot tub with a bath-side LCD screen. Chinese Suite

The Chinese Suite is resplendent in design, colour and decorative detail, with an Imperial dragon design on the scarlet ceiling, complemented by red lacquer furniture offset by gold-coloured walls. In the living room with spectacular views over the Huangpu River and Shanghai's famous Bund, there are coffee table books on Shanghai and architectural features.
