Farm-To-Table Oasis At Anguilla's CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa

Farm-To-Table Oasis At Anguilla's CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa
The Farm features freshly grown produce ranging from kale, tomatoes, peppers, microgreens, cucumbers and eggplant, to herbs such as basil, parsley, mint, lavender, chervil, and much more, on showcase throughout all dining venues and used in select treatments at the Resort's award-winning Venus Spa.

The island of Anguilla has to import all fruits, vegetables and all other food from North America or Europe via St. Maarten, which severely reduces the quality of perishable fresh vegetables. CuisinArt wanted the freshest ingredients for their guests, and considering Anguilla is non-arable and has no fresh water apart from that generated by reverse osmosis, hydroponics was the obvious solution for growing fresh vegetables.

The 18,000 square-foot greenhouse was engineered to withstand winds up to 110 mph, and crops can be grown all season, regardless of outside weather conditions. The farm contains two lettuce ponds and a bato bucket system for vine crops like tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and eggplant. A-frames are used to maximize the number of plants in a given area and raised beds and plant towers are used for herbs, lettuce, peppers and bok choy.

The resort offers Hydroponic Farm tours on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
