Eastern & Oriental Express | St. Regis Experience

Up until December 23rd, a special journey through the Malay Peninsula on the legendary Eastern and Oriental Express train includes one-night stays in two St. Regis hotels at the start and end of every journey.

The colonial carriages of this luxurious train offer opulent surroundings where passengers will find themselves immersed in the panorama and culture of Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, and the ever-changing tropical scenery throughout the journey.

Begin your expedition at the St. Regis Singapore and toast your journey with the St. Regis Signature Bloody Mary Ritual and enjoy a customised massage at the Remède Spa. Next, step aboard Asia’s only luxury train, and dine on gourmet Eastern and European cuisine expertly prepared by Executive chef, Yannis Martineau.

As the train travels through Malaysia and Thailand, enjoy a stroll around the magnificent Moorish-style railway station in Kuala Lumpur as well as sightseeing tours of picturesque Penang and the famous River wai.

And as your journey comes to its finale, find your way to the St. Regis Bangkok and unwind with a welcome cocktail followed by the highly regarded St. Regis Signature Champagne Sabering Ritual.

Eastern & Oriental Express New Year’s Celebration

Eastern & Oriental Express also welcomes you onboard for a special four-night New Year’s journey departing Singapore on December 29th, heading north through Malaysia and Thailand en route to Bangkok.

Highlights of the journey include a gourmet New Year’s Dinner with a special celebratory menu. After dinner, guests are invited to change into sarongs and sandals (provided) and head down to Hua Yai beach for a party with live music, champagne, fireworks, lanterns and much more.

On New Year’s morning, indulge in a champagne brunch to welcome in 2013 before visiting the sparkling River Kwai.

Road To Mandalay New Year’s Celebration

Gently floating down Myanmar’s Ayeyarwady River, the Road To Mandalay offers a unique insight into the heart of this undiscovered, exotic country and a chance to absorb its beauty and unforgettable sites from December 26th 2012 to January 2nd 2013.

The six-night festive celebration cruise between the regal city of Mandalay and ancient capital of Bagan, home to over 2,000 temples, features a host of unique and spiritual experiences, including a tranquil yoga and meditation session each morning on the top deck or at a local pagoda at sunrise.

Local experiences include visits to nearby monasteries, a Mynanmarian tribal costume shown on the top deck and a chance to join an initiation ceremony at Tuang Be monastery to see the moment when local boys take their first steps to becoming Buddhist monks - an event not often witnessed by visitors.

During the cruise, an array of local and international cuisines is the highlight of a New Year's feast. Cocktails will be served after sundown before the celebrations kick off after dinner with a live band on the open-air Top Deck – a colourful river party amid the most serene setting.
