Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti Launches Wildlife Photographer in Residence Program

Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti Launches Wildlife Photographer in Residence Program
Will spent part of his childhood in Tanzania and although now based in the UK, he has recently returned from a year living and working in Zambia. In 2009, Will created BeetleCam, a remote-control buggy with a camera mounted on top. He used this device to take close-up photographs of African animals including lions, elephants and buffalo. The resulting images were a viral hit, appearing around the world in print, on television and online.

The program is the first initiative from the Discovery Centre, which sees a recurring series of experts visit the Lodge to give talks on local wildlife, culture and offers guests the chance to learn different skills during their stay.

Guests can be joined by a professional photographer for the day, who will offer advice and tips during the game drive, adapting the safari to the guests' level of experience, needs and desires. Alternatively, they can take photos on the guest's behalf so that they have quality images to share with friends and family once back home.

One-on-one workshops are also available with the photographer, along with private slideshows in the interactive Discovery Centre, which includes a photographers' workspace complete with 27” iMac, photo-editing software and camera cleaning equipment, where guests can learn editing and post-production tips.
