New York's Gramercy Park Hotel Opens New Rooftop Terrace
Also home to the famous Rose Bar and Danny Meyer’s Maialino, Gramercy Park Hotel reinterprets the New York luxury hotel scene by moving away from cookie-cutter elegance and offering an evolving artistic atmosphere with unpretentious service; it is a place where city life happens. Through sharing a bite or raising a glass, people and personalities are brought together to exchange ideas and viewpoints, styles and inspirations.

Come on Up: Gramercy Terrace

Evolved from the former Private Roof Club and Garden, Gramercy Terrace is a unique space high above Lexington Avenue and Gramercy Park, with sweeping skyline views. Highlighted by quirky lighting, custom-designed furniture and a changing exhibit of world-class contemporary art from private collections, Gramercy Terrace is a space that is inspired by the great rooftop venues of the city’s past, but with the modern vibe of today’s Manhattan.

Al fresco imbibing takes place in an elegant garden setting featuring a retracting roof, which ensures comfort year-round. A series of rooms offers intimate groupings of lounge furnishings for business meetings and after-hours cocktails, quiet tables for romantic liaisons, and larger tables for groups of friends to enjoy an evening of reminiscing over libations.

A constantly changing menu of light fare and sharable dishes, created by Union Square Hospitality Group’s culinary team, features fresh seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients and is available throughout the day. Gramercy Park Hotel’s own rooftop garden produces more than fifty vegetables and herbs, many of which are pickled and preserved for year-round inclusion in food and drinks at Gramercy Terrace.

The bar at Gramercy Terrace is a cocktail connoisseur's heaven. Widely praised for its devotion to the finest ingredients and instinctive flair in combining flavors into award-winning cocktails, the masters behind the bar devote themselves to the study of cocktail history and trends.
The rooftop garden serves as a source of ingredients for a secret stash of homemade bitters, syrups and infusions. Like the dining menu, cocktail selections change with the seasons and feature signature drinks such as the Gramercy Parksider with U'Luvka vodka, Cocchi Americano, and flavors of pear and mint harvested from the rooftop garden. The May Pang (New Yorkers are challenged to identify its namesake) is a saucy blend of Flor de Caña aged rum, Cointreau, housemade orgeat and Crème Yvette.

Gramercy Terrace is also available for private parties and events. The versatile space can be configured for seated meals from 18 to 150, or receptions from 50 to 300.

This is Where It All Happens: the Rose and Jade Bars

Long a favorite hangout for New York’s creative community, the Rose Bar remains one of the city’s most elusive reservations after 9:00 pm. Intimately connected to the Jade Bar, both are soaring spaces filled with bold contemporary art (on loan from private collections) and custom-designed furnishings in a jeweled color palette as envisioned by Julian Schnabel. Recently, the Rose and Jade Bars have added new lighting, furnishings and artworks, and introduced new menus.

Damion Luaiye, considered by many to be one of the city's most important social contacts, has restyled his role as Creative Director, now presiding over the famous Rose Bar Sessions and other events throughout the hotel. Whether it's a European designer heralding her new collection with New York's fashionistas, a new contemporary artist debuting his latest masterpieces, young Hollywood in town for the festivals or oenophiles sipping rare vintages, there's always something to look forward to at Rose Bar.

The eclectic cocktail menu draws from a broad selection of top end bottles, with classic recipes offered alongside seasonally-focused signature cocktails and barmen’s creations. A menu of light fare suggests casual lunches, pre-dinner cocktails or late night noshing.

Maialino

Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group has established its Roman outpost adjacent to Gramercy Park Hotel. Set amid all the warmth and comfort of a traditional trattoria, Maialino is also distinctly urban in its style. Executive Chef Nick Anderer offers a selection of classic Roman dishes inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients from local farms. An extensive wine list highlights Italian regions.

Maialino is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with the bar serving as a coffee bar each morning and offering a complete menu throughout the day.
