Hotel Café Royal has launched its new absinthe menu at the Green Bar. This new menu crafted by the bar’s mixology team to suit all guests, offers a unique experience to explore the world of absinthe with traditional absinthe foundations and creative cocktails.
The Absinthe Selection
Guests at the Green Bar will be able to explore absinthe from around the world through ‘Absinthe Revival’. The list features different varieties and strengths of the spirit and will be served in an absinthe fountain, a traditional process called louching, in which a sugar cube is slowly dissolved over absinthe using iced water from a fountain.
Limited Release Bottles
Guests will also have the rare opportunity to try exclusive, limited release bottles of La Fée absinthe, including La Fée X•S Suisse, which is distilled in small quantities in Val-de-Travers in Switzerland, the birthplace of absinthe, as well as La Fée X•S Française, which is made using the highest quality, locally grown herbs in stills dating back to 1870.
Absinthe Cocktails
The Green Bar’s team has created a selection of absinthe-based cocktails, using a wide variety of spirits, liqueurs and unique ingredients, to ensure there is a cocktail to suit every guest. Femme Au Café has a creamy consistency, intense flavour and is made of Devil’s Botany London absinthe, chocolate absinthe liqueur, Jade Perique tobacco liqueur, cinnamon and espresso. For guests looking for something lighter, the O.W Punch is a sweet and floral sharing cocktail for either two or four people, made of Italicus Bergamot liqueur, La Fée Parisienne absinthe, white apricot tea, agave nectar and cardamom bitters.
Signature Cocktails
In addition to the absinthe offerings, Green Bar will continue to offer its signature cocktails, as well as an extensive selection of fine wines, Champagne, whisky and spirits. To compliment the drinks menu, guests can choose from array of small plates and sharing dishes, including Oscietra caviar and rock oysters served with a choice of accompaniments.
