Hot Hotel Pools to Stay Cool This Summer

Hot Hotel Pools to Stay Cool This Summer
The adults-only Serenity Pool at the new Grand Velas Los Cabos, which opened on December 20th, is one of three infinity pools at the resort, all at different temperatures to suit guests’ preference of warm to cold. The pools are tiered with a 5 ft. difference in each level and rows of loungers were designed with unevenness between them, so that every space is in the front row, unobstructed in front of a kind of theater whose stage is the sea and the horizon. Within the bodies of water, islands were created with palm trees under which and on wooden decks are located special areas of sunbathing surrounded by water. Since an important part of the hotel is the view from all the rooms and public areas of the hotel, these pools were designed as silhouettes of birds and fish, in direct communication with the sea life. Jacuzzis are integrated into a corner of each pool and their shapes represent the head and eye of the "bird-fish." A swim-up cevicheria is located in the middle pool, while swim-up bars with underwater seats are in the other two. Poolside food and beverage is also served. Baros Maldives pool

Set in a wooden deck above the lagoon, Baros Maldives offers one of the first and finest overwater swimming pools in the Maldives. The infinity pool is set to the curve of the resort’s signature Lime Restaurant’s wooden deck and offers a spectacular, panoramic view of the translucent lagoon. Baros’ tranquility extends to its infinity pool, where you’re sure to find couples taking in the sun. The pool serves as a safe haven for relaxation by forgoing hosting parties and private functions. This freshwater swimming pool has an area of 85.65 sq meters and a maximum depth of 1.2 m. While lounging poolside, guests can enjoy a menu of poolside snacks for the health conscious and fresh cocktails from Lime Restaurant. Locally-inspire signature dishes from the poolside menu include Lobster Salad (charcoal grilled lobster tail, mango, avocado, mizuna and vanilla dressing) and Taste of the Indian Ocean Pizza (lobster, prawns, reef fish, chili, mint and rocket). On a hot sunny day, pair these dishes with the legendary Mango Basil Cooler (fresh basil straight from the Baros garden, hand-pressed lime, honey and juicy mangoes) or refreshing Ginger-Orange Daiquiri (Bacardi Gold, ginger liqueur, lime juice, honey syrup and orange juice).
