Amanresorts' flagship property, Amanpuri, has added private plunge pools to three Pavilions.

Equipped with spacious decks and pools ranging from 3 m in width by 7 – 10 m in length, Amanpuri’s new Pool Pavilion category is priced at the following rates for the season of 1 November 2010 – 30 April 2011: Garden Pool Pavilion (US $1,500++) Partial Ocean Pool Pavilion (US $1,700) and Pool Pavilion (2 bedroom, including a Garden Pavilion and Partial Ocean Pavilion, US $2,550++). Pool pavilions are sited adjacent to the Aman Spa on property.

Located on the west coast of Phuket, off Thailand's southern coast, Amanpuri overlooks the blue expanse of the Andaman Sea from a sheltered headland, offering 40 Thai-styled pavilions and 30 private villa homes elegantly spaced within a grove of swaying coconut palms. At the foot of a sweep of stone steps lies the white crescent of Pansea Beach, secluded and unspoilt — a wide swath of sand for guests alone.

Amanpuri has all the grace and classic Thai charm of its design inspiration, Thailand’s ancient capital, Ayutthaya. At the resort’s heart is a sleek, 27m swimming pool. This freshwater centrepiece, at once both an extension of the ocean and a mirror for the sky, is surrounded by a stone walkway and overlooked by the lofty-ceilinged, open-air reception area, a stylised courtyard, and the triple-roofed pool pavilion in which traditional Thai music is performed each night.

Amanpuri’s 40 pavilions are a spacious 115m² each, all offering private outdoor terraces, and bathroom and dressing areas as wide and welcoming as the bedrooms. Rates are determined according to view and location. Three Ocean Pavilions come with sea views (with Pavilions 105 and 103 enjoying the very best), while six have partial sea views. The 23 Garden Pavilions are tucked away amongst the coconut palms, ensuring absolute privacy, while the remaining six Pavilions are stylishly set along the resort’s internal passageway.

All pavilions feature an outdoor sala (sundeck and dining terrace), a king-size bed, separate bath and shower, refrigerator with fully stocked mini-bar, electronic safe, stereo CD system, IDD services and air-conditioning. Wireless broadband connections are available in all resort accommodations and public areas.
