InterContinental Madrid Celebrates 60 Years with 60 Must-See Sights
The collection includes a wide array of attractions including historical sites, trending neighborhoods, luxury boutiques, traditional restaurants and local pubs.

From March to December, the concierges’ recommendations will be unveiled as a month-by-month series culminating in a year-end guidebook that will be available online in both Spanish and English for international and local users to download for free. The year’s first attractions included the historical Plaza Mayor, the up and coming area Tribal, shopping in Serrano, dining at the traditional Casa Botín restaurant, a visit to Retiro Park and the luxury Spanish boutique Loewe. To recognize these locations as part of the InterContinental Madrid’s 60 favorite places, the hotel has also created a unique logo that will be placed at the entrance of each recommended site.

In addition to the curated experiences, InterContinental Madrid is also celebrating its 60 years with a bit of a makeover. One of the hotel’s most famous salons, Salón Granados, will undergo a complete restoration in 2013 aimed at maintaining the hotel’s original Feduchi architecture while incorporating a modern aesthetic and functionality. The renovations are set to be completed in September 2013.
