Perched high on the bluffs of Watch Hill, Rhode Island, Ocean House is an iconic New England seaside resort. Built in 1869 just after the Civil War, the hotel overlooks a private stretch of beach and has sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean, Montauk and Block Island. In 2010 the hotel reopened after a six year renovation costing $146 million. Inspired by the Victorian architecture prevalent in the Watch Hill area, the Ocean House evokes a timeless elegance that captures the residential ambiance of the area’s turn of the century summer estates.

Dining options include farm-to-table casual and fine dining and the culinary team includes a dedicated ‘food forager’. The range of options includes Seasons – the resort’s main restaurant – with panoramic views of the sea and at the beach, Dune Cottage is as pavilion built entirely of mahogany offering light beach fare and seasonal summer night lobster boils and BBQ’s. In May 2016, the Below Deck gelato and doughnut shop and Screening Room opened and in May 2017 the Secret Garden Champagne Bar will open exclusively offering Veuve Clicquot Champagne.

Located on the Rhode Island shoreline overlooking Quonochontaug Pond and the Atlantic Ocean just beyond, Weekapaug Inn offers quintessentially New England accommodation in a beautiful and casual setting. Dining is a huge part of Weekapaug Inn with many options for guests including The Restaurant – which offers a modern interpretation of New England coastal cuisine and the décor is inspired by the Inn’s extraordinary surroundings. There is also Garden Room, The Searoom and The Lawn – the latter two of which are open seasonally.

Rates start from $340 on a B&B basis including a selection of snacks and beverages from the guest pantry.

Situated in the heart of downtown Watch Hill Village and overlooking the tranquil waters of Little Narragansett Bay, the historic Watch Hill Inn is the oldest original structure in Watch Hill Village. Built in 1845 it re-opened in 2014 after a major refurbishment and comprises 21 suites. Listed in the National Historical Landmark Register in Washington DC, the Inn was the first building to be built as an inn from conception and is reported to the oldest of its kind in the country.

The Inn was designed for younger families and couples who prefer a more modern, contemporary feel to the opulence and grandeur of Ocean House. The suites range from 650 Square foot Terrace Suites to the 4,000 square foot Penthouse. They all have kitchens as well as state of the art technology. Guests can use also the facilities of Ocean House and Weekapaug Inn just nearby including the OH! Spa and private beach at Ocean House. In May 2017 the Lily Pulitzer Suite will debut.

Getting there
Watch Hill and Weekapaug are a three hour drive from New York City and 1.5 hours from Boston providing easy access to international airports. T.F Green Airport in Providence is just 45 minutes away and Westerly Airport is just four miles. Amtrak services are available in the nearby town of Westerly.
It is 40 miles from Newport and 55 from Providence.
