Jasmine Themed Afternoon Tea at Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London

Jasmine Themed Afternoon Tea at Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London
The afternoon tea has been designed by master patissier Eric Lanlard, who has incorporated classics of the Orient with more traditional tea elements.

Eric Lanlard worked closely with the hotel's Executive Chef Simon Young to create the themed menu. It includes a Jasmine tea smoked salmon and sesame seed bagel with wasabi mayonnaise, and prawn crackers with shredded duck, cucumber and a Hoi Sin sauce.

Sweets include a chocolate and lapsang souchong tea chopstick cake, and a delicate green tea madeleine topped with white chocolate and yuzu cream.

Eric Lanlard said: “In the 17th century the ‘Chinoiserie' style was in high fashion, combining the beauty of ancient China with the best of western civilisation. The Jasmine Tea is a visual and culinary celebration of this magnificent era.”

Chinoiserie at Jumeirah Carlton Tower provides the perfect backdrop with its sophisticated décor and soothing music played by the resident harpist. Chinoiserie has recently been extended to include the Jasmine Room, inspired by this elegant era, so guests have their own slice of ancient China while enjoying afternoon tea. The Jasmine Room within Chinoiserie is an ideal venue to host a business meeting, family event or have informal get-together with friends.
