Jodhpur, India's Blue City, Celebrates Historic Polo Event
Royal Salute will toast 2013 in exuberant style, as the kings of polo gather from around the world to celebrate the high-speed 10-goal polo tournament and festivities.

This year guests will share an important celebration with His Highness Gaj Singh II, Maharaja of Jodhpur as he commemorates his Diamond Jubilee year since being crowned 60 years ago, aged just four. Distinguished guests, patrons and players will gather together from all over the world, in the most historic polo playing country, dating back to 1889, to enjoy the celebrations and see-in 2013.

Neil Macdonald, Global Brand Director for Royal Salute, commented: “Royal Salute is honoured to sponsor this most luxurious and spectacular event for the fourth year running. This event demonstrates the ongoing commitment to world class polo and celebrates the true kings of polo, today.”

Royal Salute will provide guests with a rare insight into elite polo, the pitch perched high above the desert capital of Jodhpur, in the grounds of Umaid Bhawan Palace, designed by Singh's grandfather Maharajah Umaid Singh, and known as the last great palace of India.

Bringing the 10-goal tournament to a close, guests will celebrate the end of the Indian season and start of the New Year at Royal Salute Golden Jubilee Ball, and the New Year Procession through the extraordinary Mehrangarh Fort, lead by the Maharaja.

Royal Salute's commitment to international polo is ever growing, with sponsorships of some of the world's most prestigious polo events across America, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East. Royal Salute World Polo programme continues, with the new edition of the 119 Campeonato Argentino Abierto de Polo in December and the Royal Salute Nation's Cup in Dubai on 6th – 13th January 2013.
