JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa Opens Today for 2017 Season
To kick off the new season, the resort added family amenities, a brand new spa treatment inspired by the resort's natural surroundings, and unveiled culinary programming to enhance the resort's position as a gastronomic destination in Venice.

New Year, New Look

Renovations carried out over the winter season are now complete, and JW Marriott Venice is delighted to unveil new features for 2017. The resort now boasts an enlarged family pool - the ideal place for parents to relax and sunbathe, while the resort's younger visitors enjoy this new and improved pool space. To celebrate events and destination weddings Venetian-style, The Venezia Ballroom in the resort's conference center has been redesigned by JW Marriott Venice's award-winning architect Matteo Thun. The ballroom's design draws on warm Mediterranean tones, intended to reflect the destination and blend with the contemporary-chic color palette seen around the resort. Flooded with natural light, the new space is able to welcome up to 380 guests for events and conferences.

Mediterranean Bliss at GOCO Spa

JW Marriott Venice has been producing its own olive oil from the 100 olive trees grown on property since the resort's opening. Now, in addition to tasting the oil through the resort's culinary creations, guests will now be able to experience the olive oil at GOCO Spa. For a spa treatment guests won't forget, JW Marriott Venice's new olive oil treatment is a must-try at Venice's only spa on the water's edge with panoramic views across the Venetian lagoon. The treatment was created specifically to showcase the benefits of olive oil for the skin, and the unique exfoliating treatment uses Isola delle Rose's exclusively produced olive oil to nourish and soften skin, and aromatic herbs grown in the island's own gardens.

Cooking Up a Storm

New for 2017, JW Marriott Venice will play host to celebrity guest chefs for a range of exclusive dinners at Michelin-starred restaurant, Dopolavoro. Guests will have the chance to savor three dishes from the celebrity guest chef, and three from Dopolavoro's own resident Michelin-starred chef Federico Belluco. One of Italy's youngest and most talented chefs, Belluco was awarded his Michelin starr at just 27 years old. Confirmed chefs this season include Giancarlo Perbellini (Casa Perbellini, 2-star Michelin chef), Terry Giacomello (L'Inkiostro, 1-star Michelin chef) and Marco Sacco (Piccolo Lago, 2-stars Michelin chef).

This season, the resort will also welcome the winner of Hell's Kitchen Italy, Chef Carlotta Delicato, where she will be showing off her skills in the Sagra Rooftop Restaurant from April through August. The Italian version of the popular American reality TV show, Hell's Kitchen Italy starring Chef Carlo Cracco will continue to send a new winning chef to the resort every season, bringing fresh flavors and ideas to enhance the already exemplary dining experience at JW Marriott Venice.

One thing that hasn't changed this year, is JW Marriott Venice's standing as the ultimate luxury retreat for romantic jaunts and family escapes, a world away from the bustle of Venice. General Manager Enrique Tasende had this to add: "the 2017 season will be a great one, as we look forward to welcoming guests for the Venice Biennale, and continuing to position our resort as the go-to luxury retreat in Venice."
