King Pacific Lodge Named North America's Leading Green Hotel
Hailed as 'The Oscars of the Travel Industry" by the Wall Street Journal, the World Travel Awards is recognized worldwide as the ultimate travel accolade.

King Pacific Lodge is a 17-room floating, luxury, wilderness lodge located in the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest. Anchored off Princess Royal Island about 380 km north of Vancouver, the lodge operates from June to September and offers guests an inclusive experience of guided hikes, sea kayaking, fly fishing and wildlife watching. King Pacific Lodge attracts guests keen to immerse themselves in outdoor adventures in the Great Bear Rainforest, the world's largest remaining tract of temperate rainforest.

This latest accolade comes close on the heels of the 2010 Readers' Choice Awards, when readers of Condé Nast Traveler's magazine once again voted King Pacific Lodge the No. 1 resort in Canada for the third consecutive year.

"King Pacific Lodge has long been noted for its luxury and quality, but it is in equal measure our commitment to sustainability and conservation that has generated a loyal following for the lodge. We know that today's travellers are looking for more authentic experiences and a deep connection to the destinations they visit. A visit to the lodge provides an opportunity to see a world they could easily have missed,” says Michael Uehara, President of King Pacific Lodge.

King Pacific Lodge is constantly building relationships with conservation groups worldwide. Most recently the lodge was a partner in the film Harmony, featuring destinations beloved of HRH Prince Charles, as well as hosting a RAVE (Rapid Assessment Visual Expedition) by the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP) during their filming of the Great Bear Rainforest. In recognition of their combined goals, iLCP photographers will return to the lodge in September 2011 to give wildlife photography workshops and spend time exploring the area with guests.
