The name O is inspired by one of the most astounding scuba diving sites found anywhere on earth, the Great Blue Hole of Belize, which is an unique stalactite filled underwater sinkhole stretching 400 feet down and is a World Heritage Site. The deep blue colors of the Great Blue Hole, photographed by divers worldwide, were used as inspiration for the interior of the restaurant. The island of Ambergris Caye adjoins the largest barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere, some 560 miles in length, and is home to some of the finest scuba diving in Belize, all just minutes from the beaches of Las Terrazas and O Restaurant.
