The collection was founded by Blanca López whose starting point was her own family's home, a late XVIth century Palace in Burgos, a city in the north of Spain famous for its Cathedral, a Unesco World Heritage site.

Her inspiration? The 1954 Vincent Minnelli movie, 'Brigadoon' which is the story of a mysterious and enchanting village that appears for only one day every hundred years.

Blanca says that "Spain is full of Brigadoons -- beautiful hidden gems that contain fascinating stories, art, secret gardens, and amazing architecture."

She decided to create an exclusive brand, Les Belles Maisons, in order to tell and keep alive all the stories and offer beautiful and "undiscovered" private houses to international clients who would like to experience unique events in authentic and historical Spain: a bespoke wedding, a private business meeting, a family gathering, an intimate marriage proposal, a destination wedding photo session, private concerts, or shopping with friends. No matter the event, she and her company create cherished moments.

Les Belles Maisons' current portfolio includes 6 venues in Barcelona, Sevilla, Ibiza, Galicia and Burgos. From a 19th century romantic palm tree grove in Seville to an 11th century Castle built on a rock in Barcelona. The company has recently added a beautiful old “pazo” in Galicia that a British couple built more than 30 years ago with an impressive botanical garden.

An example of an event the company will be presenting soon is an exclusive concert that will take place on October 4th in the Castle of El Papiol, in Barcelona, called Bach to the Universe. An audiovisual concert where classical music merges with the Universe, thanks to the images from the European Space Agency. After the concert there will be a cocktail reception so guests can mingle with the artists.
