London's bbar Named World's Third Best Bar
The Central London bar and restaurant, bbar, has been voted one of the top three bars in the world by readers of British Airways' High Life magazine. It took third place behind Harry's Bar in Venice and the Michelin-starred Hakkasan in London.

High Life readers were asked to vote for their favourite restaurants, cafés, food shops and bars around the world and British Airways reports that the response in their first-ever Global Gourmet Awards was overwhelming.

bbar is a South African-themed bar and restaurant situated in the heart of Victoria, a stone's throw from Buckingham Palace. The long bar at the front of the restaurant features frosted glass and alternating lighting, as well as an exceptional selection of premium beers, and Old and New World wines and spirits. It is known locally for its accomplished barmen, comprehensive wine list, great service and laid-back, sophisticated vibe.

The bar seats 32 people with additional seating downstairs. Beyond the bar, a 50-seat restaurant boasts Zebrano tables, giraffe-skin pattern banquettes and a beautiful collection of wildlife photographs by world-famous photographer Michael Myers, creating a subtle African ambience. The menu draws its inspiration from the renowned Australian chef, Bill Granger, encompassing flavours from Asia and the Pacific.

bbar manager, Herman Van Den Berg comments: "The High Life award is a major achievement for bbar and reflects the enormous hard work and dedication we all put in to making the bar and restaurant a success. Being in the company of Harry's Bar and Hakkasan is the icing on a fantastic cake!"

bbar is located at 43 Buckingham Palace Road, London. For reservations and additional information call + 44 (0)20 7958 7000.
