LPGA Tournament Returns to Phoenix at JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa
Professional female golfers from across the country are participating in the prestigious tourney and forgoing tournament earnings to support a charity commitment of $1 million to the LPGA Foundation, its LPGA U.S. Golf Association Girls Golf program, and designated charities by the top-10 finishers.

The LPGA selected JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa because of its two high caliber golf courses and ability for combining the two along with the benefit of the event being held at the luxurious resort rich in amenities and facilities.

Wildfire Golf Club, a multi-award winning club including "Top 75 Golf Resorts in North America" by Condé Nast, "Best Courses You Can Play" by Golfweek, "Best Resort Course in the Southwest" by Travel & Leisure Golf and certification by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program features two picturesque 18-hole courses designed by two of golf's greatest legends -- Arnold Palmer and Nick Faldo.

The RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup will feature a field of 134 players with a Pro-Am on Thursday, March 17, the first round of play on Friday, March 18 and final round played on Sunday, March 19. It will be nationally televised on The Golf Channel.

The tourney will feature special appearances by LPGA founders Marilynn Smith, Shirley Spork and Louise Suggs as well as LPGA & World Golf Halls of Fame members Betsy King, Patty Sheehan, Nancy Lopez and Pat Bradley.

While the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup aims to expose the Valley to some of the country's best women golfers, the LPGA hopes to use the tournament to nurture the next generation of golfers.
