"We are proud to lend our support to this worthwhile cause – our train travels through the heart of the historic tiger territories in Malaysia and Thailand; it's a sad fact that today there are more tigers in captivity than there are in the wild. We hope the fundraising gala events on the Eastern & Oriental Express and at our partner hotels will raise significant funds and awareness to help bring these beautiful creatures back from their otherwise certain extinction.” Comments, Nicolas Pillet, General Manager, Eastern & Oriental Express.

Simon Clinton, Founder, Save Wild Tigers comments, “With only 10 years left to save this iconic species from extinction, the clock really is ticking. We are really proud & grateful to be working with the Eastern & Oriental Express in providing passengers a chance to experience a trip of a lifetime, for what surely must be the cause of a lifetime. All profits from our fund raising activities will go to global and local targeted tiger conservation projects, funds that are desperately needed.”

In addition to the special journey in October, guests traveling on the Eastern & Oriental Express throughout 2014* will have the opportunity to place silent bids for a stunning and unique Crystal Tiger Sculpture, designed by artist, Lauren Baker– with the winning bid to be revealed on the final night of the ‘Tiger Express' journey at the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok. The artwork will be on display on the train and a second sculpture will be revealed at the Gala Dinner at the Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur and will be one of the star items in the charity auction.
