On 12 March 2011, an unprecedented event will take place in Singapore. At the initiative of DFS, one of the world’s leading travel retailers, and in partnership with Changi Airport, an exceptional event is being organised on the theme “Master of Spirits”, featuring the most prestigious champagne, wine and spirits in the world.

The House of Rémy Martin will be under the spotlight, offering a ‘dream come true’ opportunity to all collectors and spirits lovers around the world. The famous House of cognac is putting three lots up for sale, including an incomparable carafe of LOUIS XIII dating back to the 1930s which contains eaux-de-vie from another era.

This is unquestionably one of the most exciting items of this event. The crystal carafe from the 1930s, whose value is estimated at €50,000.00, has no peer. Its contents, LOUIS XIII Grande Champagne Très Vieille Age Inconnu, is a crown jewel of the House of Rémy Martin, containing eaux-de-vie dating back to the mid-19th Century.

This is the first time that the gates to the heritage of the company, founded in 1724, are being opened in such a masterful way. This authentic carafe, certified by the House of Rémy Martin’s cellar master, Pierrette Trichet, truly incarnates the soul of LOUIS XIII, its ancestral brand, the art of its successive cellar-masters, its quintessentially French concept of luxury.

The carafe, numbered 718, has been created from a series of decanters that were served as part of a royal banquet in 1938 at the château de Versailles in the presence of His Majesty King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Never before has the House of Rémy Martin unveiled so much of its rich past. The carafe is presented in a unique seamless full-grain leather and rare wood box set.
