Mirror Lake Inn Receives Wine Spectator Award for 14th Year
The framed certificate, signed by Editor and Publisher Marvin R. Shanken, says, “This restaurant is honored by Wine Spectator for having one of the most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world.”

The View Restaurant was also the recent recipient of the AAA Four Diamond Award for the sixth year in a row.

“The combination of achievements for The View Restaurant speaks to diners with discriminating tastes,” said Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa owner Ed Weibrecht. “Our staff, led by Restaurant Manager Katie Welch, Executive Chef Jarrad Lang, and wine and spirit expert Barry Sears, is committed to the highest level of service and satisfaction. These awards are a tribute to them and the food and beverage employees who work with them.”

The hotel and restaurant own the distinction of being Lake Placid's only resort offering Four Diamond lodging and dining. It's setting, directly overlooking Mirror Lake, is unmatched.

As The View Restaurant guests peruse the wine list, they will find over 375 selections, according to Sears.

“Our list encompasses both local and international wines, with an emphasis on quality,” stated Sears. “I try to find selections that tell a story about the winemaker. Many of them I know personally, and their passion shows through in the wines they make.”
