"Pompeii and Europe. Nature and History (1748 - 1943)"-- launched this summer, the exhibition analyzes the fascinating site's artists-- from the beginning of the excavations in 1748 to the dramatic bombing in 1943. The first part of the exhibit "Nature and History (1748-1943)" can be experienced at the National Archaeological Museum in Naples and highlights Pompeii's influence on European artists from the eighteenth to twentieth centuries. The second installment of the exhibit takes place directly in the ruins of Pompeii -- the plaster casts of the eruption victims are presented after being recently restored. Another section of the exhibit is "Photographing and Documenting Pompeii" which is being hosted in Pompeii's Amphitheatre and displays significant preserved photograph from this fascinating piece of history. The exhibition will run through November 2, 2015.
