New Vegan Culinary Program at Jade Mountain & Anse Chastanet St. Lucia

Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet have announced a new culinary program to take place during the last week of August. In partnership with the resorts’ esteemed culinary team led by award-winning Consulting Chef Allen Susser, the program will be helmed by Celebrity Chef Lauren Von Der Pool, with meals and interactive experiences that highlight home-grown ingredients and showcase St. Lucia’s rich history and local culture.

Leading the resorts’ “Spices of the Caribbean” week, Chef Von Der Pool is one of the most exciting voices in raw vegan food today. The NYC-based celebrity chef and cookbook author practices the art of synergizing cooking, creativity and the importance of healthy living with a breadth of experience catering high-profile events such as The Oscars, The Grammys, The Olympics, Wimbledon and the 2022 Met Gala. Most notably, she worked alongside Former First Lady Michelle Obama, playing an instrumental role in her 2009 child obesity prevention campaign, ‘Let’s Move.’ The Le Cordon Bleu graduate has appeared twice on The Food Network’s hit TV show, Chopped, has worked with world-renowned chefs that include Marcus Samuelson, Alice Waters and Wolfgang Puck, and has cooked for many prominent celebrities, including Stevie Wonder, Common, Venus and Serena Williams, and Patti LaBelle.

From August 26-30, resort guests can register to experience Chef Von Der Pool’s talents within an array of exciting, Caribbean plant-based culinary activities and tastings. The week’s events include:

● Emerald Estate Farm Discovery Tour + Al Fresco Vegan Cooking Class
● Sunset Cacao Ceremony on Anse Chastanet Beach
● Artistic Vegan Wine Pairing Dinner at the Signature Jade Mountain Club
● Emerald Estate Organic Chocolate & Spice Sensory Tasting
● Emerald Restaurant Vegan Farm-To-Table Dinner

The resorts are pioneers in vegan Caribbean cuisine. In addition to boasting a fully vegan restaurant and expansive onsite organic farm, they offer vegan cooking classes led by a dedicated vegan chef de cuisine, host raw vegan culinary retreats, and popular vegan-friendly events like their annual Mango Madness festival.
