Park Hyatt New York Introduces Nalai, An Atelier Spa

Nalai will offer discerning guests a completely customized spa experience in a 13,000 square foot sun-drenched sanctuary perched above Midtown Manhattan. Inspired by the French term “atelier,” which is defined as an artisanal workshop where one-of-a-kind works of art are created, Nalai will specialize in curated services and seasonal, international treatments that emphasize individual wellness needs.

In the language of the Lenape people, the original tribe of Manhattan, Nalai simply translates to ‘Serenity,' a core pillar that the spa will promote through a unique synthesis of cutting edge healing technologies, advanced beauty rituals, and ancient healing techniques to craft a deeply personalized experience. Helmed by Spa Director, Amy Olthoff, Nalai will feature a selection of custom spa treatments tailored to meet a wide variety of guests' needs, utilizing specially commissioned products from Carita Paris, H. Gillerman Organics and Stemulation. Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed by a food and beverage pairing crafted by Executive Chef, Sam Hazen.

NALAI SIGNATURE TREATMENT

Nalai's signature treatment is founded on the ancient tradition of earthing, identified as the practice of employing the Earth's energy by grounding the body to the Earth's natural surfaces. The experience, which will be offered through Nalai's state-of-the-art sand quartz bed, the first of its kind in New York City, pampers guests with luxury linens atop a warmed bed of quartz and sand. Beginning with a decadent full body treatment utilizing Nalai's signature body products, Nalai's signature treatment is followed by a warm stemps, or poultice massage, cradled in the healing powers of quartz, and enhanced with a complementary amuse bouche.

NALAI INTERNATIONAL SERIES

Nalai will feature seasonal experiences inspired by acclaimed treatments and remedies from various award-winning Park Hyatt spas around the world. Offering wellness rituals honored throughout the centuries and sourced from the far corners of the world, Nalai will transcend guests to exotic locales without ever having to leave New York. A limited inventory of Nalai's seasonal spa experiences will be released to the public for advance purchase six to eight weeks prior to the launch of each season and offered at a designated time each day. Pricing begins at $350.

NALAI DESIGN

In keeping with the overall interior design of Park Hyatt New York by interior design firm, Yabu Pushelberg, a calming, contemporary aesthetic with an intimate residential feel will set the tone for the Nalai experience. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light to flood each space and will also provide sweeping views of the New York City skyline and partial views of Central Park. A breathtaking three-story aerie will serve as an extension of the spa, featuring a steam room, hot tub, private changing rooms and an indoor swimming pool with underwater speakers playing an exclusive soundtrack from Carnegie Hall.
