Paul Gauguin Cruises Acquires Second Luxury Ship
Paul Gauguin Cruises, operator of the highest-rated and longest continually sailing luxury cruise ship in the South Pacific, the m/s Paul Gauguin, announced the acquisition of a second ship which will begin sailing under the Paul Gauguin Cruises banner in December 2012. This ship will be christened m/v Moana after completing a multifaceted renovation in November 2012. Moana features 45 staterooms accommodating 90 guests.

Full 2013 deployment details for Moana will be announced in early 2012. Plans are to sail during the summer months in the Mediterranean and winter in the Caribbean and Latin America. Emphasis will be on delivering unique destinations that larger ships cannot offer and exploring hidden ports throughout these regions.

The ship is 513 feet long and 71 feet wide, and has a draft of 16.9 feet. The ship can accommodate 332 guests with a staff of 217 and is one of the top Exclusive Charter and Incentive Group venues in the industry. The Gauguin has undergone more than $25 million in enhancements, has completed more than 570 South Pacific cruises, and has served more than 176,250 guests, including more than 15,000 honeymooners, since its inaugural sail in 1998. The Gauguin has just been impressively named the Gold Magellan Award Winner in the Small Cruise Ship category by Travel Weekly, earned the “#1 ranking for Dining” in the Small Ship Category in Cruise Critic's 2011 Cruiser's Choice Awards, and was ranked in the “Top 5 Small Luxury Cruise Ship” category in the Condé Nast Traveler 2011 Readers' Poll.
