Peter Island Resort's Learn-to-Sail Package

Renowned as the sailing capital of the Caribbean and a favored destination among yachtsmen, sailors and pirates of yore, there's no better place to learn to sail than the British Virgin Islands. Peter Island Resort's Learn-to-Sail package includes:

• 5 nights accommodation in a Beach Front Junior Suite or Ocean View Room
• 3 days of sailing instruction with Swain Sailing School on an IC24, 24' keelboat with a tiller sailing school gratuities
• All meals including unlimited picnics
• Other complimentary amenities including water sports instruction, yoga classes, night-lit outdoor tennis courts and more

Guests will learn to sail in the BVI's navigable Caribbean waters that are ideal for getting one's sea legs. The first two days of sailing school include 4 hours of one-on-one sailing and 1 hour of classroom instruction. On day three, students have another 4 hours of sailing and take the U.S. Sailing Association's Basic Keelboat certification exam. Aspiring sailors will also receive a textbook, logbook and a one-year membership to the U.S. Sailing Association. Those who successfully complete the course and pass the exam will receive internationally recognized US Sailing Basic Keelboat certification. All the key elements of sailing are covered including sailing terminology, marine rules and regulations, techniques, tacks and jibes, right-of-way, points-of- sail, sailing knots, reefing, anchoring and much more. The program is available to singles, couples and families for up to 4 people.

Rates for the Learn-to-Sail package start at $4,700 for two people in an Ocean View Room, and $6,393 for two in a Beach Front Junior Suite. Rates do not include tax or service charges. For those who know how to sail and want to perfect their skills and get certified, a one-day "Basic Keelboat Challenge" course is available. Guests wanting to dip their toes in to a less intensive sailing experience can inquire about Swain Sailing School's 3-hour "Introduction to Sailing" course. For those looking to enjoy the sailing capital of the Caribbean with someone else at the helm, Peter Island Resort also offers an Ashore/Afloat Sailing Package that includes 5 nights of on- island accommodation and 2 nights aboard Peter Island's crewed 51' Hans Christian sailboat, Silmaril. The Silmaril also offers sunset sails and private charters for Peter Island Resort guests. Island-Style Spa Boot Camp Peter Island Resort's Island-Style Spa Boot Camp is the perfect way to launch a new fitness regimen or take an existing workout routine to the next level. The package includes 5 luxurious nights in a Beach Front Junior Suite or Ocean View Room, and 3 days of intensive ‘island-style' training with a personal trainer, yoga sessions and a daily spa treatment to sooth sore muscles, rejuvenate the body and enhance the benefits of the island-style workouts. Personal training sessions incorporate Peter Island's natural resources into each workout to include the steep, hilly terrain of the island's 5-Mile Loop for running, biking or hiking–long stretches of soft sand beaches and calm seas perfect for resistance training and cardio workouts that may include swimming, paddle boarding and sea kayaking.
