During its wildly popular “Ice Cream Festival Weekend” (Aug. 16 – 18) which attracted families from all over the Southeast, 1,268 participants helped create a massive 1,249-foot, 10.8-inch ice cream sundae. It shattered the previous record of 670 feet. The victorious attempt may be viewed in this YouTube video:

The sundae consisted of over 1,850 pounds of Luke's Ice Cream, 1,696 pounds of chocolate sauce, 462 pounds of sprinkles, 840 pounds of whipped cream and 1,748 pounds of bananas. The toppings were generously donated by Sysco. A portion of the proceeds was donated to Alliance for Kids.
