Laucala Island – 7 Perfect Days in Paradise

Day 1 - After morning sun-salutations during an Astanga yoga class at the Cultural Centre, enjoy a well deserved organic breakfast of locally sourced delicacies such as tropical fruits, home made breads, and fresh leaf teas and coffee grown from crops on the island. After breakfast, the elegant ambiance of the resort's own Riviera Open Flybridge Yacht awaits you, and the deep blue of the sea beckons you for a day of high-spirited and exciting game fishing. Chef would be delighted to cook the fish for guests if they catch any. Return back to the island to watch the sun set, over cocktails and canapés at Rock Lounge.

Day 2 - Now you are beginning to get your bearings of the island, head out to the 18-hole championship golf course, and take in the breath taking views of the mountain back drop. Here you will find undulating fairways and challenging greens with strategic bunkers to ensure a well balanced game. On hole 9 where a bungalow with a terrace overlooking on the Ocean, guests can enjoy a breakfast or light lunch. Lunch can also be at the Golf Club House or any restaurant of your choice. On your return enjoy a refreshing swim in your villas private pool, before dressing for dinner at Plantation House, choosing from the fine dining menu whilst sipping on a glass of wines from a wide range of choices.

Day 3 - Perhaps today you will take things down a key, and decide to partake of the Spa Garden and explore Fiji's tropical flowers, herbs, spices and fruits. Then experience some of the spa treatments in one of the treatment villas. Traditional Fijian Bobo massage and the natural resources of the island integrated into the Spa Journeys treatment, are sure to ease away any aching muscles from the past two days activities. A laid back supper of Teppanyaki at Seagrass Lounge and Restaurant, would be the perfect way to end the day.

Day 4 - Feeling well rested and invigorated from the previous day at the spa, begin the day with a work out at the gym. Then head down to the coral reefs and the incredible array of large and small fish, for either deep sea diving or beginners snorkeling. So that you can continue your day of water sports uninterrupted, tell the chef you would like him to prepare a bespoke picnic. An afternoon of kite-surfing and jet skiing would be the perfect prelude to a barbeque at the Beach Bar.

Day 5 - An early start today, in order to capture the beautiful surrounding scenery on horse back. The trek will take you along the fine sandy beach, and through plantations and coconut groves. After an invigorating and energetic morning, the Pool Bar beckons, with delicious tropical drinks, and light appetizing cuisine. In-Villa dinning, and a bespoke menu designed especially to suit your tastes, is a perfect end to the day.

Day 6 - A visit to the herb garden and hydroponic farm to learn about the resort's impressive sustainable produce, with a nature walk en route. Chef Martin Klein demonstrates picking the right matured herbs and vegetables for local Fijian cuisine, followed by a cooking class with Chef Martin. After a stroll on the sand as the sun is setting, a romantic candlelight dinner is prepared on the beach with local delicacies.

Day 7 - A cultural day set aside to learning about Fijian culture and traditions, visiting the traditional Fijian village. Learning about the cultural history of the country and getting first hand knowledge about local rituals and beliefs. An unforgettable final evening begins at sunset, gathering to sample chilled coconut, whilst watching the cooking of ‘lovo' open cooking pit and the initiation of the Kava ceremony. Local adults and children perform a traditional ceremony of dancing and singing, whilst you savour the ‘lovo' fare, mingling with other guests and islanders.

The ‘all-inclusive' ethos means that all food and beverage services are included, as well as chauffeur services, nannies, housekeeping, concierge service, and laundry and dry cleaning. Sports and activities, golf, tennis, horseback riding, land and water packages and diving are all included within the all-inclusive residence price, so that guests can truly focus on immersing themselves into their daily activities, without having to worry about carrying cash around with them.
