Aria Luxury Apulia, who are experts in Italy's heel, are urging holiday makers to visit the specialist region and experience a bit of luxury – just like the stars.

Gaining a reputation as a favorite hangout for celebrities, Puglia's distinctive mix of traditional buildings and culture is what makes the region a one of a kind destination. Becoming famous for hosting some of the most talked about weddings over the last decade, Puglia was brought back to mainstream attention in 2014. Hosting a stunning wedding attended by Prince Harry, Pippa Middleton and Princesses Beatrice and Eugene, Carlo V Castle attracted hundreds of photographers keen to catch a glimpse of the royals.

Cementing its position as an A-list magnet, the coastal town of Gallipoli is awash with famous faces. Co-owning a villa in the area, Bond girl Eva Green, TV presenters Dermot O'Leary, Steve Jones, Tess Daly and husband Vernon Kay, singer Will Young, creator of Moshi Monsters, Michael Acton Smith and financial adviser James Gallimore invested in the stunning gated getaway and transformed it into a handsome villa fit for Hollywood parties.

Chiara Tenuzzo, Director of Aria Luxury Apulia said, “Although gaining popularity over the last couple of years, the area of Puglia is still a fairly undiscovered part of Italy. For many years it has been a top secret destination for A-list celebrities, however we aim to share the beauty of the region with more people, which is why we offer a stunning range of Puglia villa holidays, allowing people to holiday with the stars.”

Oscar-winner Helen Mirren and her husband Taylor Hackford are regulars to the region, with the actress having celebrated her 70th birthday there last year. Rock legend Mick Jagger is another famous fan, having been seen paying a visit to the historic Masseria L'Astore winery near Tricase. Sampling the tasty drops the region is famous for, the winery is well-known for its organic, or ‘slow', wines. Falling in love with the distinctive region of Leece, British actor Jude Law has been seen enjoying the alluring beaches, while fellow thespian John Malkovich enjoyed the city, opting to stay in a hotel right in the centre.

Having a long history of being at the forefront of fashion, Italy wouldn't be Italy without attracting some of the finest fashion creatives of the 21st century. Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci, creative consultant of Vogue Japan, Anna Dello Russo and Dean and Dan Caten, founders of the Dsquared2 fashion label all partied in the Puglia region last summer, soaking up some its distinctive atmosphere.

Some celebrities have even been so taken by the Puglian lifestyle that they have purchased property there. Hollywood royalty Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren famously have a holiday home in the region, as does boxer turned actor Mickey Rourke, legendary singer Paul Weller and American film director Francis Ford Coppola.

Boasting dazzling beaches, untouched beauty and a unique history, there's no wonder Puglia has captured the hearts of both celebrities and holidaymakers of all ages and backgrounds.
