Quasar Expeditions Announces Three New South America Journeys for 2015

Quasar Expeditions Announces Three New South America Journeys for 2015
Launching in 2015, the latest additions to the company's portfolio of excursions include the Galapagos & Andean Ecuador Wellness Explorer, Winter Puma Tracking in Patagonia and, in the works for later this year, an Amazon Riverboat and Luxury Andean Train experience in Ecuador, giving travelers an opportunity to capture the diversity of South America even further.

Quasar's Galapagos & Andean Ecuador Wellness Explorer

In partnership with the Sacha Ji Wellness Hotel and Retreat, this combines Ecuadorian culture and adventure with the transcendent elements of the environment. Travelers will experience meditation, yoga, hikes, sea kayaking, snorkeling and more. After several days at Sacha Ji, guests board the M/Y Grace (named after her late owner, Her Serene Highness Princess Grace of Monaco), that still looks as young and chic today as the princess who honeymooned aboard her in the 1950's. Guests will participate in yoga and meditation sessions both on board the yacht as well as on the actual Galapagos sites. The Sacha Ji therapist will also be on board to assist with massage therapies, as well as Quasar's expert Galapagos National Park guides to ensure the entire journey reflects all that the islands have to offer. Quasar covers all of the bases for a stress-reducing and educational wellness experience.
The Galapagos & Andean Ecuador Wellness Experience is 10 nights/11 days and pricing starts at $10,055 per person, based on double occupancy. Departures set sail in Q4 2015.

Winter Puma Tracking Safaris

The beauty and comfort of Patagonia during the winter is a well-kept secret, and Quasar has partnered with two of the best puma trackers in the region to take advantage of the season with an adventure like no other. Travelers enjoy all the comforts of the Jeep Overland Safari as they track these beautiful wild creatures in their natural habitat. April through September in Patagonia provides blue skies and very little wind, making winter temperatures very manageable. The huanacos (a type of llama) come down from the hills to avoid the snowline and congregate by bodies of water. Their major predator, the elusive Andean Puma, follows its prey closely and is often hunting in the middle of the day, allowing Quasar guests the opportunity to see them. Travelers also experience Patagonian sites, including National Parks Torres del Paine and Sarmiento Lake, while in search for the pumas and a series of other wildlife including foxes, skunks, armadillos and the strange Geoffrey's cat.
Travelers have the option of a six-day or nine-day puma tracking itinerary. Pricing starts at $6,550 per person, per group (6-8 pax) and $7,150 per person, based on double occupancy. Puma tracking will be available beginning April 15 - September 15, 2015.

COMING SOON: Essential Ecuador; Amazon Riverboat and Luxury Andean Train Experience

This multi-cultural journey will uncover the essence of Ecuador's mega diversity from the coast to the Andes in a combination of natural and cultural experiences. The trip begins in Ecuador's award-winning cacao producing region, travels up through the mystical cloud forests to the country's stunning tundra, and back down to Quito. It's followed by a riverboat cruise in Ecuador's easily accessible, yet very authentic Amazon Jungle region.

The Essential Ecuador experience is 11 nights/12 days and pricing starts at $4,399 per person, based on double occupancy.
