The Regent Berlin Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary with Special Package
In honor of the milestone, Regent Berlin is also presenting guests with a special package at $1,113 (EUR 847) that includes a two-night stay, three-course dinner at Fischers Fritz, signature champagne cocktail at the Regent Bar, welcome gift, access to the Regent Health Club and a donation to the hotel's long-supported children's charity, “A Heart for Children.” The anniversary package is available now through Dec. 29, 2014 and is based on double occupancy.

The property, originally opened in 1996 as a Four Seasons, joined Regent Hotels & Resorts in September 2004 . At this time, the newly branded hotel also launched its signature restaurant Fischers Fritz, which, under the helm of celebrated Executive Chef Christian Lohse, has since been awarded two Michelin stars for seven consecutive years.

“With its ideal location at the Gendarmenmarkt, a fantastic team and our first-class service, we have positioned ourselves perfectly within the highly competitive hotel scene in Berlin,” says Stefan Athmann, general manager of the hotel.

Since its opening, Regent Berlin has changed 1.5 million pillowcases, opened 15,578 bottles of champagne and served 15 tons of lobster at Fischers Fritz. The hotel currently has 200 staff members stemming from 18 different nations that continually provide new and loyal guests from around the world with the unparalleled service for which the hotel is recognized.

Originally built as a residential mansion at Charlottenstrasse 49, the architecture followed the meticulous plans of Karl von Gontard (1731-1791), who was also the architect of the German Cathedral. In 1811, the famous wine merchants Lutter & Wegner took over the property, which attracted many personalities and characters of the period including author E.T.A. Hoffmann and actor Ludwig Devrient. Destroyed during World War II, the building lay in ruins during the time of the DDR. In 1996, the Four Seasons Hotel was opened as part of the “Hofgarten am Gendarmenmarkt” project. Josef P. Kleihues served as architect for the property, while well-known American interior designer Frank Nicholson designed the interiors.
